DANIEL KILLEN . LUCERNE

Lucerne
2002
620 x 125mm / Pastel On Paper

I was inspired by a busker in Seville selling small pastel on paper vignettes of local scenes that used the colour of the background paper for key elements of the artwork.

These illustrations were prepared for my grandmother and depict her photographs of Lucerne, Switzerland - her favourite place in Europe.

She passed away earlier this year and they have recently returned to my possession.

About The Artist

Daniel is an associate director & architect at arkLAB Architecture.

Originally from Morpeth, NSW, Daniel moved to Brisbane in 2007.

He commenced architectural studies in 1995 but always loved drawing and painting.

This has taken a backseat in more recent times, and Daniel now indulges in art vicariously through his exhibiting artist wife, KHR Stewart.

Daniel hopes to return to producing artworks in his retirement.
