Tectonic II is inspired by tectonic plate movement and the equalisation and distribution of geological mass above and below sea level. As a small-scale topographical study, the piece highlights the sedimentary layers that are exposed and thrust upward over the course of time through the cross-laminated end grain patterning. The internal void represents the meeting point of the plates which is in a constant state of flux.
